A new category in this year's Devon and Cornwall Business Challenge aims to highlight those companies which keep international trade at the forefront of the region's business agenda. As the closing date for entries draws close on the 13th June we take a look at the third category in this year's Challenge.
Trading internationally gives businesses the opportunity to access new and more diverse markets. Martin Wright, Business Challenge sponsor and Relationship Director, RBS Corporate Banking comments "With the UK economy forecast to grow more slowly than in recent years we see exporting to the markets such as the eurozone in particular as an increasingly popular option for local businesses as they seek to take advantage of increased competitiveness from the current strength of the Euro."
He continues "There are many companies throughout the region who are successfully selling the unique skills and talents of Devon and Cornwall overseas. We want to turn the spotlight on those companies and highlight how international trade can help businesses reap rewards. If international trade has emerged as a major part of your company strategy then we want to hear from you."
To enter this award companies will need to demonstrate that over the last 12 months they have achieved a marked increased in international activity, highlighting not only the results but the strategy behind that achievement.
Martin concludes "We are delighted to be sponsorsing the International Trade award and look forward to seeing some great entries from businesses in Devon and Cornwall seeking to spread their influence across the globe."
